Jarvis Personal — last updated 6 September 2026
Jarvis Personal ("the application") is a personal software project operated by David Lee as an individual. It has a single user: its author. This policy describes exactly what the application accesses and what it does with it.
With the user's explicit consent, the application reads the content and metadata of messages in the user's own Gmail mailbox. It requests one Google OAuth scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly — read-only access to Gmail messages and settings. It requests no other scope. It cannot send, modify, archive, label, or delete mail, and it has no access to Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts, Photos, or any other Google service.
Message text is converted into a search index — a keyword index and a set of numeric embeddings — stored on the user's own personal computer. The purpose is to let the user search his own correspondence more effectively than Gmail's built-in search allows.
Entirely on hardware the user owns and physically controls. The application has no backend, no hosted database, and no cloud storage. No message content is transmitted to the developer, to this website, or to any server operated by anyone.
Limited Use disclosure. The application's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The local index persists until the user deletes it, which he can do at any time by removing the index files from his own machine. No copy exists anywhere else, so no deletion request to any other party is possible or necessary.
Access can be withdrawn at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking it immediately and permanently prevents the application from reading any further mail.
The application is not directed at children and has no users other than its adult author.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
